The 36th edition of COUROMODA - International Shoes, Sportsgoods and Leathergoods Fair will be held from 12 to 15 January 2009, at the Anhembi Exhibition Center, in the city of São Paulo, showcasing new fashion collections of 1,200 manufacturers of all types of footwear, sneakers, bags, sportsgoods and traveling luggage, garments and fashion accessories.
Couromoda, the leading sector-related fair in Latin America, will occupy 80,000 m2 of exhibition area, and opens the business season for the industry of footwear, accessories and garments, thus calling in retailers and distributors from all over Brazil, as well as importers from over 70 countries.
Couromoda, the biggest showcase of the Brazilian footwear industry, exhibits over 3 thousand brand novelties, with goods that will supply the retail market over the following seasons. The collections launched during the fair feature collections for the fall/winter season and also for high summer, aiming to meet the needs of the retailers of all the regions of Brazil and of the international buyers.

Almost 25% of total Brazilian footwear yearly sales are concluded or started at the fair. And it is Couromoda that sets-off the leather-footwear chain at the beginning of the year. Last January, the event hosted 77 thousand visits of retailers, manufacturers, importers and professionals of the leather and footwear chain. These buyers signed R$6 billion purchase orders, in deals concluded at the fair and others for the following 30 days.
The 36th edition of Couromoda, to be held next January, will be fully renovated, visually as well as in the range of services offered. "Today, we have a more mature, modern market, with new consumption habits and new rules. It is in this context that we are preparing Couromoda 2009 and we shall once again surprise the trade, with actions that foster exhibitors to enhance their presentation and enthuse the retailers to schedule their purchases safely", highlighted Francisco Santos, founder and president of Couromoda.
The best sports brands are at Couromoda
Couromoda spread over 10 thousand square meter of exhibition area especially dedicated to the sports sector, with plenty of footwear, sneakers, garments, accessories and several other sportsgoods launches, being the meeting point of the sports sector. Among these brands, important labels on the world market are worth mentioning: Reebok,
Olympikus, Fila, Penalty, Kappa, Umbro, Dal Ponte, Skechers, Converse All Star, Try On, Mizuno, Topper,
Rainha, and others.
Couromoda resumes its fashion shows
Amidst innovations prepared for Couromoda 2009: footwear, accessories and sportsgoods fashion shows are back. As the fair wants to enhance its focus on the Fashion content, next January edition will feature five fashion shows. Jorge Bischoff, Reebok and Hetane are some of the brands that have already confirmed their catwalk presentations.
Attending the most important world markets
Aiming at promoting the fair and bringing buyers from more than 70 counties, during the whole year Couromoda follows through an intense international promotional campaign, visiting the most important world markets. Hence, Couromoda is present at the following fairs: WSA (Las Vegas/USA); Micam (Milan/Italy); GDS
(Düsseldorf /Germany); Modacalzado (Madrid/Spain) and Expo Riva Schuh (Riva del
Garda/Italy), as well as the fairs in Latin America.
